Welcome to FaithWorks!

We are an intergenerational faith community centred on Jesus Christ. We are committed to spiritual formation and practical service and our desire is to be a gift to the communities in which we live, work, and play.

FaithWorks Response to COVID-19

Dear friends,
FaithWorks leadership wants everyone to know about our current response to COVID-19 and its impact on our faith community.

We do not want to contribute to a heightened fear and anxiety about this virus but we also want to be prudent and help protect one another as much as possible. This is why we are taking some precautionary measures that are listed below. Please pray for our community and the larger community as many are deeply affected by this virus.

All FaithWorks gatherings are cancelled until further notice. The office is also closed. Pastor Melanie, Pastor Roger and Office Administrator Val Glor will be working remotely. Leadership Team has also implemented a no one-on-one meeting policy for the pastors. We recognize the limitations this puts on our community and are trying our best to still care for each other and to support and encourage all those who are a part of FaithWorks and those around us.

We will be attempting to have an online gathering this Saturday through Zoom, a video conferencing platform. If you are not familiar with this application, please see the mass email that will go out to all those on our mailing list with information on how to access this platform. If for any reason you do not receive this email please contact the office or email roger@efaithworks.ca.

The pastors will both be available through phone calls and through email. If there is compatibility we can also chat with FaceTime, Zoom, Skype or other electronic means.

We are in the process of setting up a FaithWorks Facebook page to process requests and opportunities to care for each other. If people are isolated and not able to shop or need emergency supplies we invite the community to respond in a caring and responsible fashion. If you need anything please post to our new Facebook page both requests and offers of assistance.

In these unprecedented times we want to encourage each other. We can pray for each other. We can maintain contact with each other through electronic media. Please reach out and make contacts with those who come to mind and with those who might need an encouraging or supportive word.

Though we won’t be in much contact, please continue to exercise best recommended health practices. This includes being rigorous in disinfecting hands and any surfaces through frequent washing and/or using hand sanitizer. Refrain from handshaking or hugging. Greet one another with a wave or some other non-contact greeting, remembering that a smile and a warm hello go a long way.

We are continuing to process and evaluate our response as a faith community to COVID-19 and we will update you on any changes or decisions that will impact the community. We invite any concerns or questions you might have and are glad to discuss this evolving situation with you.

A final reminder. Jesus offers comforting words in John 14:27. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not let them be afraid.
